Big Diamond Speedway – April 8, 2012

For the second year in a row Rick Laubach won the first modified race of the season at Big Diamond Speedway. Laubach captured the 40-lap Easter Sunday open modified event while Brad Brightbill (Sportsman) and Jim Kost (Roadrunners) both won their respective feature races.

Ryan Godown ‘Tires’ Race of Champions/Poker Series Field At Bridgeport Speedway; Drives Rick Clay No. 88c to Spectacular $4,000-plus Victory; Hoffman Era of Bridgeport Promotion Gets Underway

BRIDGEPORT, NJ – Ryan Godown ‘tired’ the Bridgeport Speedway Modified field on Saturday.

Godown, who suffered a right-rear flat tire on lap 47 while running in a second place, pitted for fresh rubber and charged through the field to earn the victory in ‘Hand One’ of the Poker Series at the South Jersey clay oval. The event doubled as the inaugural South Region Race of Champions Dirt Modified Tour visit to Bridgeport.

Flashback: Bridgeport Speedway – June 8, 2005

Led by new promoter Doug Hoffman, Bridgeport Speedway will bring back the big block modifieds to the 5/8-mile oval on a regular basis in 2012. Here we take a look back at a race held in memory one of Bridgeport’s most successful track operators, the 40-lap George Wingate Classic held on June 8, 2005.

Stewart Friesen used a go-for-broke slide job on his “pal” Jeff Strunk with two laps remaining in Sunday evening’s ‘King of the Can’ big-block/small-block Modified event at Penn Can Speedway to earn a $5,000 victory. Friesen, of Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ont., supplanted Pennsylvania star Strunk out front following the race’s final caution on lap 48 of the 50-lap feature, drawing a rise from Strunk and the fans at the Keystone State oval.

HIRTHLER GETS SECOND WIN OF THE SEASON, KELLNER GETS HIS FIRST WIN OF 2011 AND POTTS GETS A WIN AT GRANDVIEW

(Track Press Release) BECHTELSVILLE, PA – Despite doom and gloom predictions from the weatherman the show, a tripleheader, went on at Grandview Speedway on Saturday night. Kevin Hirthler was able to wheel his Green Lane Wm. Penn/4 Star Lettering sponsored entry to victory in the 30-lap open competition modified stock car feature race for his second win of the season at the Berks County clay oval.

JJ GRASSO STORMS TO IMPRESSIVE $5,000 410 SPRINT VICTORY AS BILLY PAUCH TOPS THE MODIFIEDS IN THE “JERSEY RUSH” TUESDAY NIGHT AT NEW EGYPT SPEEDWAY

(Event Press Release) NEW EGYPT, NJ – Rain, hail, sleet and snow will not stop the mailman and Hurricane Irene was not about to stop the first presentation of the “JERSEY RUSH” Tuesday night at the New Egypt Speedway.

The event battled plenty of rain, damaging high winds and even a power outage at the track, but when it was all said and done, JJ Grasso of Pedricktown, NJ lived up to his “Jersey Jet” name to win the 30 lap, $5,000 to win JERSEY RUSH.
