JEFF STRUNK WINS CHAD SINON/BPG MOTORSPORTS 14TH ANNUAL TRAFFIC JAM THURSDAY NIGHT AT GRANDVIEW SPEEDWAY POCKETS $8,500 FOR THE WIN

(Event Press Release) The NAPA Auto Parts Thunder on the Hill Racing Series lost to Mother Nature on Wednesday but battle back on Thursday night to present the Chad Sinon/BPG Motorsports 14th Annual TRAFFIC JAM. This popular event that started in 1998 has taken place at Grandview Speedway for fourteen consecutive years and the Thunder Series promotional team was not about to lose this event to bad weather. Jeff Strunk driving the Norm Hansell modified took the win in the TRAFFIC JAM and collected $8,500 as the top prize.

Stewart Friesen Earns $5,450 Payday At Big Diamond Speedway ‘Anthracite Assault’ RoC Event – Canadian Secures First Big D Triumph; Jared Umbenhauer (RoC Sportsman) & Nick Mady (XCel 600 Mod) Also Visit Victory Lane

MINERSVILLE, PA – For Stewart Friesen, Tuesday night marked another career milestone.

Friesen, of Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ont., earned his first-ever victory at Big Diamond Speedway in the anticipated Race of Champions Dirt Modified Tour ‘Anthracite Assault’ 60-lap event organized by BD Motorsports Media and Race of Champions Motorsports. RoC returned to the Schuylkill County oval for the first time since July 2006 with an all-star field of big-block/small-block Modifieds representing New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware and Canada.

RYAN GODOWN TAKES THE BATTLE AT LINCOLN

ABBOTTSTOWN, PA – After the two lead cars tangled, Ryan Godown capitalized to win the 60-lap Race of Champions-sanctioned modified at Lincoln Speedway.

In the companion 358/360 sprint car feature, Aaron Ott passed Lance Dewease with just two laps to go and scored the victory.

The Battle at Lincoln was the first modified race at the facility in a quarter-century.

Billy Decker Returns ‘Home’ To Penn Can and Collects Huge $8,050 Payday in Historic ‘Clash at the Can’ Following Battle with Modified Up-And-Comer Danny Tyler; Huge Crowd Watches Talented 66-Car RoC Modified Field

(Event Press Release) SUSQUEHANNA, PA – Billy Decker returned to the track where it all started and left with a big payday.

Decker, 46, a resident of Unadilla, N.Y., who kicked off his storied career in former ‘Tiger’ division at Penn Can Speedway, invaded the Susquehanna County oval and walked off with an $8,050 payday in Tuesday night’s monumental ‘Clash at the Can’ event, which featured the highest ever winner’s share and total purse in the speedway’s history. Decker, who started 12th in the 60-lap event, earned the victory in John Wight’s potent No. 91 Gypsum Racing Bicknell after a battle with young Danny Tyler, an up-and-coming Modified star from Cottekill, N.Y., who races regularly at Accord (N.Y.) Speedway.

HUNTER SCHURENBERG EARNS $6,000 FOR USAC SPRINT FEATURE WIN AS BILLY PAUCH POKCETS $3,000 FOR WIRE-TO-WIRE VICOTRY IN THE MODIFIED FEATURE

(Event Press Release) NEW EGYPT, NJ – With a total purse in excess of $44,000 the AMSOIL USAC Sprints and Big Block Modifieds presented the “Elbows Up” Double-header on Thursday night at the New Egypt Speedway. Hunter Schurenberg of Sikeston, MO earned $6,000 by winning the 40 lap USAC sprint feature in a dramatic finish.

Flashback: Bridgeport Speedway – June 29, 2004

We look back to seven years ago at the big 5/8-mile Bridgeport Speedway. The short-lived DIRT Southeast Series hosted a 25-lap Big Block Modified feature event on June 29, 2004. Modified legends Kenny Brightbill and Doug Hoffman battled it out for the feature win.
