SHORT TRACK SUPERNATIONALS PRESENTED BY VP RACING FUELS AND PIONEER POLE BUILDINGS QUICK RESULTS
Young Danny Tyler of Cottekill, N.Y., topped an all-star field on Saturday night at Five Mile Point Speedway in the fifth anniversary Short Track SuperNationals presented by VP Racing Fuels and Pioneer Pole Buildings. Tyler surpassed legendary Billy Pauch Sr., who led from the outset, to take the lead with three laps remaining and held off the charges of Bobby Varin and Brian Weaver to earn more than $6,000 in cash and contingencies for the 50-lap big-block/small-block Modified event. Weaver drove from 22nd to earn the third-place result.

However, the Oley, Pa., driver found his way to Victory Lane at the fourth edition of the Short Track SuperNationals. With a huge field of 162 race cars – headlined by 79 big-block/small-block Modifieds – jamming the Kirkwood, N.Y., facility, Howard’s Mike Petruska-owned No. 66 was parked outside the pits on an access road.
